Tucked away in the heart of the East Village and right off Saint Mark’s place (The Japanese district of NYC) is a charming little venue called Solas. Surrounded by Ramen Houses and Sake Bars, Solas represents the beating heart of New York’s Salsa scene. The space has is a classic New York City long corridor shaped lounge . The music here is half salsa and half bachata with a good mix of dancers from all levels. There’s something for everyone at Solas. You can dance the night away or just chill. The party does get packed from 10pm to 12pm but there is always enough room to dance. Did I mention there is a fully stocked connected bar right next door where you can cool off and have a drink. It’s become a popular party because it’s both affordable and has a great space.
